.......Guns n Roses.......

Hey Rock people.....
Rockonomy has returned with one of the legendary and the greatest band ...GnR....
Although Rockonomy has featured two articles regarding GnR...but still as it is my favorite band so I would like to write some more about this band....

As mentioned earlier ..GnR was formed in 1985...it happened to be one of the most influential band in the rock history....we are going to skip the numbers(how many copies sold..number of shows etc etc)...who cares???...the only thing that matters is the magic they create by their music....

GnR released number of albums like...Appetite for Destruction....GnR Lies....Use your Illusions I n Use your Illusions II...The Spaghetti Incident...n finally the last year's album...Chinese Democracy....

Axl Rose has been always known for his rude behaviour in live performances...he has been into fights with the audiences..like in St.Louise...and many times he just stopped singing when any of the audience threw something on stage...always passing comments and all.....but still his energy and charisma made the live performances the best any rock band could give....and of course here was Slash too.....

Everyone knows about the dissociation of GnR in mid 90's...
Their have been changes in band's line up every couple of years...but the main people always stayed until the disputes between Slash (my guitar Idol) and Axl Rose which led to complete deterioration of the band....everyone left except for the keyboard guy....

The magic of Slash in the numbers like Sweet Child o' mine(my personal fav)...back off bitch...November Rain...Bad obsession...Its so easy...Civil War....etc etc began to fade due to his absence.....Slash along with the rhythm guitarist and drummer went to Velvet Revolver (that too experiencing various controversies).....

The Main thing is not only according to me but all the GnR fans agree with me that Guns n Roses is dead.....But its legacy has not ended.....You can still listen to their previous covers..and one we are offering again to download or listen...The Appetite For Destruction.....

The Article and Album Exclusively brought to you by Rockonomy....

........Audioslave.........

Hey people....
Rockonomy has returned with an unconventionally band for you...its Audioslave.....The complete mixture of musicians from different backgrounds creating some of the most rocking music....

Audioslave was formed in 2001..the band always had a lot of controversies from the very start.....While talking about the name..Audioslave has an interesting story to tell..They Say that Cornell had a vision and Christ suggested him this name....
Well I don't know about the vision story but Christ did suggest them a good name....

Well the band comprises of Chris Cornell ( from Soundgarden)..Tom Morello..Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk(All from Rage Against Machines)....This amalgam of super artists did create some magic in rock history....

Well from the very start..while the release of their first album..the band was hit by inner controoversies...(some managers problems) which was resolved later and then Audioslave became the first American Rock Band to perform in Open Air Concert in Cuba....

Audioslave then released its second album..Out Of Exile....the album was a major hit..Also Audioslave was nominated for various Grammy awards and their track Like A Stone fetched them one....This Album features some of the greatest tracks ( and my personal favs) like Be Yourself...Doesn't Remind Me...Out Of Exile...etc....
Although their previous album also has some of the most fantastic numbers like I am The Highway...Like A Stone...Shadow on the Sun...Gasoline ...etc....

After Out Of Exile...Audioslave became quite popular band...the same album brought them to various charts like Billboard top 200....Although after it the band released its best album in terms of commerce..Revelations....The Album Was a major hit and success....but it was after this album that Cornell decided to leave the band maybe due to reunion of Rage Against Machine or maybe his personal desire to pursue a solo career...who knows???....And the band broke in 2007.....ending the era of such awesome guitar solos and mesmerising vocals....

Talking about their music style..Its really unique...there is a huge huge huge fan following of Chris Cornell because of his Voice and the guitar solos by Morello are just awesome..He uses the Wah Wah pedals so good....Having some funk Rock tone in their music influenced by 70's heroes Audioslave created some of the greatest music in the world.....which will be in our heart ever...

Out Of Exile(free download)

The album and the article exclusively brought to you by Rockonomy....

p.s:This is not done with Audioslave..Rockonomy will return with yet another article on Audioslave..Till then KEEP ROCKING!!!

.........Joe Satriani..........

Hello people....

Rockonomy is back with another Rockstar...This time I am not going to speak about any lyrics..or some great drum beats...because I am going to talk about the great Guitarist and instrumentalist..Joe Satriani aka 'satch"....One of the greatest guitar living on this earth....

Satch was born on 15 july 1995(his birthday is coming) in NY,US....He inclined to music at early teenage...After Jimi Hendrix's death he completely devoted himself to music..While he learned Jazz music first..he became such a fast learner that he started teaching a guy playing guitar..any guesses who that guy was?? Steve Vai...yeah right....
Later he went to pursue higher studies in music only.....

After graduating he resumed teaching...some of his famous students included..Kirk Hammett(Metallica)...David Bryson(Counting Crows)....Geoff Tyson(T- Ride)..and many more....

Eventually Joe started playing with David Roth in 1986 and in 1987 released his second album Surfing with the Alien...which was immensely popular....
Joe released many albums in the coming times and worked with some of the greatest bands like Deep Purple....The YardBirds...Steve Vai....Dream Theater...etc etc... and gave some of the finest music to us.....

Joe is a magician with guitar...some of his instrumentals just create a magic in music..Like Always with me,Always with You.....All Alone...Summer Song...The Extremist....the list is endless because Joe never stopped creating the most beautiful and finest instrumentals....

Today I am going to give you one of his greatest album..Joe satriani released in 1995...The Album contains some of his greatest solos like Down Down Down...If....Sitting Round etc.....You can Download the album for free here..or just listen to some tracks online for free....

You Know what..The Most important fact that people would like to know about Joe Satriani is the Instrument Range he uses...He has an High end Range of guitars and amplifiers and pedals but I would tell you about them in the next article....Till then Keep looking forward for Joe Satch new article...

Black Sabbath's Black Magic...

Hey all....
Rockonomy is back with some old metal and rock for you guys....The band featured today is probably the beginners of the "heavy"metal or "Hard Rock" genre of music....

The Band is Black Sabbath......
Black Sabbath was initially formed as..
Earth...in 1968 by Ozzy Osbourne,Tommy Iommi,Bill Ward and Geezer Butler....
They were initially known as Polka Tulk and then changed to Earth and played heavy blues rock...but the later changed their name to Black Sabbath...They majorly played the Death Lyrics..quite horrifying....

Black Sabbath was also ranked as Greatest heavy metal band in the history of rock music by several magazines and even by MTV awards.....

Black Sabbath faced a lot of changes in the lineup of the band...there were in total 22 changes in the lineup of the band...Anyways..the original people of the band Reunited in 1997 with an album Reunion...

Black Sabbath has delivered some great masterpieces in the past ...likeParanoid...Black Sabbath....Master of Reality..Volume 4 and many more.....
They completely changed the face of metal and rock music in their era and led a bunch of musicians and bands to follow them in their glorious music style....

Initially they played the covers of musicians like
Jimi Hendrix and Cream but they soon came up with their numbers like Black Sabbath.....

Black Sabbath has got a huge history behind them and I think any blog would be just too small to sum up the Ecstasy of the music of Black Sabbath....

Although I am going to talk about some things...Did you know that all the members of
Black Sabbath were into drugs a lot....Coke was a word to them that meant a lot....
Later they underwent some Rehab to control it....

Black Sabbath's success has a long story...and I am not going to state all of it now...lets move with album to album...it started with the album Paranoid...a quadruple platinum album giving all the push to the career of the band...Although it was followed by several double gold and platinum series of albums and all are masterpieces....

It was not just a simple music as it was an inspiration to several leading bands in 80's and even now!!...Bands like
Metallica..Megadeath...Smashing Pumpkins....etc are really influenced by the Black Sabbath....

And now its your turn to turn your head with the
Black Sabbath music and jazzy touch to Metal...Along This article..you can download the album for free....and get into the legacy of metal by Black Sabbath....Black Sabbath's Paranoid...an awesome collection of great numbers...Track Paranoid is also featured in Guitar Hero....

You can even enjoy the wonderful tracks of Black Sabbath online.....

p.s:Rockonomy is not done with the legendary band Black Sabbath..We Will return soon with yet another awesome album and an article of the artist...Till then Keep rocking...

..........Jimi Hendrix............

Hello everyone....
Its been a while since any Rock artists has been featured here on Rockonomy...
Well...the artist of the Week is JIMI HENDRIX....actually he should be called artist of the century.....Probably the greatest guitarist in the world of Rock music....wait... he is not just a guitarist..!!..

He is a successful and brilliant songwriter, singer and producer.....

He is considered the most influential guitarist in the genres like Hard Rock..Acid Rock...Blues Rock...Psychedelic Rock....

Born as Johnny Allen Hendrix(27,November 1942-18,September1970) is considered as greatest guitarist by The Rolling Stone Magazine ......

Jimi was born to an army man and his name changed to James Marshall Hendrix in the memory of his dead mother...well very less people know that Jimi has been in Army...but we ain't here to discuss his biography...man that would be too long...

Well...skipping everything and jumping to his musical career...he started off in sometime when he was around 15...after getting an electric guitar later...he started with some local bands and performed in some gigs....well he was not so good with the grades but he could play the guitar with his teeth...unbelievable  right??.....

Well his first formal band was The Velevetones...he also jammed  with The King Kuslas....His career started with a bang...earlier he was a boy playing a right handed guitar with the left hand...but later he became the heart throb of millions...specially in UK....even the fans of reigning musicians like Eric Clapton....Hendrix attracted a huge fan following...

Then came the Jimi Hendrix Experience...It included plenty of tracks written with Golden ink in the history of Rock Music.....performing with plenty of bands and musicians...He was often requested to play Purple Haze...his most popular number I think.....

Around in 1964...Hendrix joined his first national tour.....and was honored with an award.....in 1965 he joined the band Curtis Knights and Squires...and started touring...He met quite legal disputes  because of some contracts and also was unhappy performing in south America.....

Well....looks like if I am gonna tell you his history...I"ll end up with some sleepy readers.....You know what...he has got some interesting turns and twists in his early life...but I am gonna talk about his music only.......

Some of his most popular tracks include......purple haze...can you see me...manic depression...fire...voodo child....machine gun...etc etc.....which were also voted as greatest solos by many guitar magazines.....

Well he was the one who opened the Electric Lady Studios.....Hendrix was quite a fashionable person...really you can check him out in his videos....wearing those flashy clothes and Bob Dylan hairstyle.....

Well when it comes to the styles...I surely wanna mention his unique styles in guitar playing and amplifiers effects.....

You wonder from where wah wah effect came from.... answer is Hendrix ...... Hendrix is known for his different effects and guitar styles....also his association with Fender led to many innovative styles and techniques in guitar playing.....
These were some of the things which made him so so popular and made some of the greatest rock bands to fall in his follower list... some bands like.... The Who and Cream.......

Sadly Hendrix Died in 1970..on 18th September due to some drug intake with some alcohol...his death was definitely a setback to the Rock music...Dying at an early age of 27...Hendrix still gave a lot to Rock......

Well coming to album featured here on Rockonomy... its a collection of some tracks by Hendrix which made him so so popular..... some of his wonderful creations..... these are the songs where you feel the real magic of Rock......

You can download it here for free..... but if your bandwidth restricts you to do so....then you can listen to them here on Rockonomy for FREE!!!!

The Article and album brought to you exclusively by Rockonomy......

p.s:Rockonomy is not done with this legend yet....Rockonomy will return soon with another album and yet more interesting article on this legend Jimi Hendrix......

Chemically Romantic...MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE....

Hey folks.....
Its been a long time on Rockonomy,no new post has been made available for people with the album....but Rockonomy is back and its back with a bang.....

Today's artist or band is My Chemical Romance or just MCR.....
MCR is an EMO rock band originated in New Jersey.....

The band has that something in it which made them so popular among the youth.....some of the significant qualities of their music are...soulful lyrics...I mean their lyrics are generally emotional kind and in fact really good.....secondly the instinct of punk in their music also makes their songs so cool....and also...the way the lead singer of the band....Gerard Way sings....really turns the head......

So..the band started off in 2001 and released their first album in 2002...named..I Brought You My Bullets,You Brought Me Your Love....the album was good but not a huge success.....

It was in 2004..they released their second album..Three cheers to sweet revenge...hitting the charts..the album made to platinum in just one year...giving hit singles like Thank You For The Venom...I'm Okay(I Promise)....Helena....

It fetched them lot of tours with great bands like Nirvana..Green Day etc....the band started attracting a huge fan following(including a lot of girls) coz the band members are just too cute....!!!!

Following it ..the released the Black Parade album(which is my personal favorite) in 2006...the album was a major hit and still is....tracks like Teenagers...Welcome to The Black Parade...I Don't Love You...etc...are just awesome....

The album was also recognised by Rolling Stone magazine in Top 50 albums for the year....
Black Parade just added too many stars in their career and that of Gerard..fetching him Hero of The Year award in NME awards....

Talking about the awards...MCR has a strange toll...I would rather say Gerard has won strange awards...According to a magazine he got Hero of The Year...Villain Of The Year...Best Album of The Year...Worst Album Of The Year(Black Parade)....Best Track ("Welcome to the Black Parade").... Best Video ("Welcome to the Black Parade").... Best Live Show, Best Thing about 2006....... Worst Thing about 2006.....Sexiest Male (Gerard Way). Strangely, Gerard Way also finished third in the Sexiest Female category.

MCR has faced a lot of criticism about they being EMO by many Rock Bands and some conflicts with Marilyn Manson accusing them of stealing or I would rather say copying his style....but all of them subsequently sorted out.....

with the following band members:
     Ray Toro — lead guitarbacking vocals (2001 -  )
     Mikey Way — bass (2001 - )
Frank Iero — rhythm guitar, backing vocals (2002 - )
     Bob Bryar — drumspercussion (2004 - )

MCR has found its place in Each and every IPOD  and music systems today......
Well its time for the album of the day....THE BLACK PARADE......my personal fav...the album is just too awesome.....

You can download the album for free or just save time and listen it only on Rockonomy.....

I hope you people like the album...and dont forget to watch the video of I dont love You track from this album on youtube..its really nice....

Get DISTURBED.....

Hello everyone......

The atmosphere here in Rockonomy is going to be heavy...because DISTURBED is here....

Disturbed is an American Heavy Metal Rock, nu-metal band....
The band is relatively new, formed in 1996....but it has met incredible achievements in this short span of time...

Originally Disturbed was called Brawl including guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren and bassist Steve Kmak and vocalist Erich Awalt...when Erich left the band..the other three members went on advertising and found new face for their band....David Draiman.....

It was David draiman who renamed the band to Disturbed...why???
when David was asked about it...Draiman said, "It had been a name I have been contemplating for a band for years. It just seems to symbolize everything we were feeling at the time. The level of conformity that people are forced into was disturbing to us and we were just trying to push the envelope and the name just sorta made sense."

After starting off as Disturbed....the band launched their debut album...The Sickness in 2000...

The Sickness featured some of the coolest heavy metal songs..including Down With The sickness which was the catch at every radio station....topping several charts The sickness was in top 50 at Billboard bringing Disturbed a huge fan following immediately....

After the sickness..Disturbed also gave music to WWE's Stone Cold Steve Austin...remember the bald guy in WWE who kicks every opponent's a@# in the ring and drinks beer afterwards...well his music "The Glass Shatters"is given and composed by Disturbed....

In 2001...Disturbed got the privileged to be on a tour with some great rock bands like Black Sabbath, linkin Park,Papa Roach etc.....in ozzy osbourne's ozzfest....
immediately after that Disturbed also joined Marilyn Manson's tour...

In 2002...after a documentary DVD on the band...Disturbed released a new studio album...Believe...the album topped the billboard chart and shooted up to peak position of #1....after the increasing popularity Disturbed went on many tours in the following years of believe....

The band didn't stop here....Disturbed released its third studio album proving to be platinum and again topping the chart to #1 position..Ten thousand fists...the album featues some of great numbers like Hell ...Stricken and more.....
This album released in 2005 was the second Disturbed album to peak the position #1 on billboard...the album brought some more fan following and a lot of tours ahead.....the band toured in various places with many rock legends and heavy metal stars.....

Till now disturbed was quite popular with their metal thing in their tracks and some head turning licks in certain numbers....

Disturbed launched their fourth and latest album....which also peaked the billboard chart at #1 position making it their third consecutive album to do so....
the album called Indestructible was launched in 2007....the same album available at Rockonomy for free contains some awesome tracks and singles like the night...perfect insanity...torn..inside the fire and many more....

The band has been compared to some great bands like Metallica...U2...for their metal essence....all the tracks of Disturbed have outrageous heavy metal feel and some of the brilliant licks and leads in them....
due to the great music that disturbed produces...they have been signed in for the ROCK BAND game....some of their tracks are featured in that game....

Although there have been some questions over the genre of music where people think that they are not really enough metal...the band has cleared off the air quite smoothly by stating some quotes like...

"We probably have too much melody going on or we're not quite as turbulent or caustic. While I really love that type of music, it's not what we try to do. If we have to place things in context, we're more hard rock than heavy metal these days."

"The secret is that we were never really part of any particular trend, although we definitely benefited from the popularity of what was called nu-metal at the time," Draiman says. "We never had the stereotypical attributes that those bands had. We don’t rap; there’s no turntable involved; no fusion in that respect. We play, in my opinion, classic metal. [Black] Sabbath, [Iron] Maiden, [Judas] Priest, Metallica, Pantera: These are the bands that made us want to play"

Anyway whatever be their genre..we just know that they create awesome rock music and some of the tracks are my personal favorite....

Well the band member composition goes like this....

Current

David Draiman – lead vocals (1996–present)
Dan Donegan – lead guitar (1996–present)
John Moyer – bass guitar (2004–present)
Mike Wengren – drums (1996–present)

Former

Steve "Fuzz" Kmak - bass (1996–2003)

Although the band has released many albums but here on Rockonomy their latest album Indestructible is available for free.....so go on and download the album to get really DISTURBED.....

Metal mania with ...METALLICA....

Hello everyone.....

Rockonomy has brought a real treat for every metal fan...METALLICA...name says it all....its one of the oldest and yet Greatest metal bands in rock history....
Metallica is basically a thrash metal..speed metal and Hardrock band...

The band formed in 1981 in California,US by the drummer of the band Lars Ulrich...
the members are the same as they were in 1981 except the bassist of the band..
Metallica has gone through a plenty of bassists in the past....

Metallica started off by playing instrumentals and fast tempos musicianships...
Earlier band had Dave Mustain as lead guitarist but he later dissociated to form Megadeath after having conflicts with Hetfield....

The Band started playing live somewhere in 1982...they had a compilation named Metal Massacre which wasn't released actually but they performed certain tracks from it...
Metallica boomed up in 1983 with the launch of Kill 'em All....a wonderful album giving some super hit tracks like Hit the Lights(from Metal Massacre), Seek n Destroy...Motorbreath( my personal favorite from the album)..etc....

The album wasn't a financial success but it surely brought a lot of lime light to Metallica...

Band was a huge hit after the release of this album and started influencing the metal bands in US and UK....
It becomes more clear from the fact that the tours of Metallica with Bon Jovi and some other artists in England recorded a foot fall of 60k-70k....that's sure a huge gathering....

But this wasn't enough...in 1986 with the launch of Master of Puppets..the band was among the top artists....album stayed on billboard top 200 for whopping 72 weeks....some say it was their greatest achievements till date... I think they are right in saying so....

In the same year 1986..there was sad demise of the bassist of the band...Clifford Burton in a bus accident where rest of members survived...
after the demise of Burton...band released two more album...Garage Days ReRevisited and Cliff 'em All...paying tribute to the lost bassist and band member...

Some how band continued on the metal path and achieved more glory during
1988 for ...And Justice For All....it was a commercial success...also the album contains some breath taking speed metal solos and numbers like ..One and Blackened.....that'll blow your head away....
It was followed by the album Metallica...featuring tracks like Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman which later fetched them a Grammy...it was during this album..when Hetfield got seriously burnt due to a technical fault in a tour with GnR.....
but the band continued to rock like they always did with guitar technician filling up for Hetfield...

The band grabbed 6 more Grammys with the albums like Load...Reload...St.Anger.. containing some awesome tracks and instrumentals like The Call Of Ktulu...Whiskey in the Jar..My Apocalypse..etc...

Until their latest album Death Magnetic featuring some brilliant tracks like The day that never comes..That was just your life and..The judass Kiss which also received a Grammy making their toll rise to...9 Grammys..
Apart from Grammys..Metallica also bagged several MTV awards and Billboard Awards....

All the tracks by the band consist of immense metal effect..those who just love to hear some distortion..Metallica is your band...The guitar licks are just out of this worls..like in Call Of Ktulu..That was just your life..Master of Puppets etc...

Metallica has given many rocking performances in their tours and concerts like rGuitar Hero tour and Live Earth concert...check out their videos to see the passion among people for Metallica

The band went through a number of bassists and the member stats of the band goes like this..:

Current

James Hetfield – lead vocals, rhythm guitar (1981–present)
Kirk Hammett – lead guitar, backing vocals (1983–present)
Robert Trujillo – bass guitar, backing vocals (2003–present)
Lars Ulrich – drums, percussion (1981–present)

Former

Ron McGovney – bass guitar, backing vocals (1981–1982)
Dave Mustaine – lead guitar, backing vocals (1981–1983)
Cliff Burton – bass guitar, backing vocals (1982–1986)
Jason Newsted – bass guitar, backing vocals (1986–2001)

Talking about the album featured here in Rockonomy...i.e..Kill 'em All...this first album by Metallica contains some killer tracks which will take you to a metal ride....Its a must listen...
You can either download it for free or just listen to the tracks here on Rockonomy.....
