Hello everyone.....
Rockonomy has brought a real treat for every metal fan...METALLICA...name says it all....its one of the oldest and yet Greatest metal bands in rock history....
Metallica is basically a thrash metal..speed metal and Hardrock band...
The band formed in 1981 in California,US by the drummer of the band Lars Ulrich...
the members are the same as they were in 1981 except the bassist of the band..
Metallica has gone through a plenty of bassists in the past....
Metallica started off by playing instrumentals and fast tempos musicianships...
Earlier band had Dave Mustain as lead guitarist but he later dissociated to form Megadeath after having conflicts with Hetfield....
The Band started playing live somewhere in 1982...they had a compilation named Metal Massacre which wasn't released actually but they performed certain tracks from it...
Metallica boomed up in 1983 with the launch of Kill 'em All....a wonderful album giving some super hit tracks like Hit the Lights(from Metal Massacre), Seek n Destroy...Motorbreath( my personal favorite from the album)..etc....
The album wasn't a financial success but it surely brought a lot of lime light to Metallica...
Band was a huge hit after the release of this album and started influencing the metal bands in US and UK....
It becomes more clear from the fact that the tours of Metallica with Bon Jovi and some other artists in England recorded a foot fall of 60k-70k....that's sure a huge gathering....
But this wasn't enough...in 1986 with the launch of Master of Puppets..the band was among the top artists....album stayed on billboard top 200 for whopping 72 weeks....some say it was their greatest achievements till date... I think they are right in saying so....
In the same year 1986..there was sad demise of the bassist of the band...Clifford Burton in a bus accident where rest of members survived...
after the demise of Burton...band released two more album...Garage Days ReRevisited and Cliff 'em All...paying tribute to the lost bassist and band member...
Some how band continued on the metal path and achieved more glory during
1988 for ...And Justice For All....it was a commercial success...also the album contains some breath taking speed metal solos and numbers like ..One and Blackened.....that'll blow your head away....
It was followed by the album Metallica...featuring tracks like Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman which later fetched them a Grammy...it was during this album..when Hetfield got seriously burnt due to a technical fault in a tour with GnR.....
but the band continued to rock like they always did with guitar technician filling up for Hetfield...
The band grabbed 6 more Grammys with the albums like Load...Reload...St.Anger.. containing some awesome tracks and instrumentals like The Call Of Ktulu...Whiskey in the Jar..My Apocalypse..etc...
Until their latest album Death Magnetic featuring some brilliant tracks like The day that never comes..That was just your life and..The judass Kiss which also received a Grammy making their toll rise to...9 Grammys..
Apart from Grammys..Metallica also bagged several MTV awards and Billboard Awards....
All the tracks by the band consist of immense metal effect..those who just love to hear some distortion..Metallica is your band...The guitar licks are just out of this worls..like in Call Of Ktulu..That was just your life..Master of Puppets etc...
